MOAC Round 2
Well it's been a fun few weeks. We're all absolutely loving the new studio- there is so much more room, and it makes going to work such a treat!
It's a good thing because I've been in the studio a lot lately....working on some new treats for round 2 of MOAC. I think you'll all be very pleasantly surprised! I don't have the final product count- I just keep making stuff until I need a break, and then I put them on the site- but we have 3- count them 3 new formulas!
One new lippie formula (which is to die for) that's kind of a lipgloss/lipstick hybrid- so it's pigmented, creamy, and fairly glossy. We needed it because I was doing some lighter spring colors and they were just didn't look quite right with a matte base. Mattes are great for more formal occasions, or winter- but for summer I think we need a little gloss and shine- so we have a new formula. I've been listening to people's comments about our lippies for a while now, and I think you're really going to like them. They're kind of the best of both worlds- moisturizing shine with that creamy texture, a healthy amount of pigment, and they really last on your lips. I've been wearing them for about the past week and I'm in love.
The second new formula I have coming out is our "Gel Liners" are finally ready. That project took me most of the winter, but I finally nailed it. Gel Liner is a bit of a misnomer for the project because they're entirely natural- no silicones, no preservatives, no creepy chemicals- and even mostly organic, so I'm calling them Cream Liners. The first release will be "the basics"- so black, brown, shimmery brown, a shimmery silver/black, and maybe a couple more- then I'll take color requests (after we release round 2). We're also doing a clear version that works as a liner sealer.
The one tiny little drawback is that you have to set them with Perfecting Powder to get them to last all day- but once it's set- it doesn't budge until you take it off. I kind of like it that way- it gives you lots of time to get that line perfect or smudge it if you want a less defined line- and it doesn't dry-up in the jar. Those puppies will last about 2 years (natural products should be replaced every 2 years or so).
I have some special eye shadow colors that go along with them too- but that's another blog post because it's a really fantastic effect.
And in a complete departure from what we normally do- I'm doing a few limited edition fragrances. Because it's me- and I just can't bring myself to do what everyone else is doing (yes, I'll clone colors- but I like to keep the ideas behind the products unique)- they're in solid stick form, so they're really convenient, kind to your skin, and they don't have any alchohol in them so we can ship them anywhere in the world pretty inexpensively.
The girls that ordered over the weekend, and this week are getting sneak peek samples of them. They have to be Limited Edition because they use Camellia oil (from tea)- and it's not something that's available in huge quantities. I'll make as many as I can for as long as I can, but there may be a point where I have to stop making them. I've tried them with a few other oils, but nothing works as well as camellia- it just holds the scent so well- so the perfume really lasts, and it's not greasy.
There may be a few other surprises as well....
When will it all be on the site?? I'm hoping Wednesday the 14th at the latest- but I'll keep you posted.
Happy Mother's Day to all of the Mom's out there! Have a great weekend!
